Clara Shanley, an Acting student at John Paul the Great Catholic University (Class of 2019), will be traveling to Ireland this fall with her brother to create a documentary about the growing suicide epidemic in the country. They plan to spend five weeks in Ireland filming the documentary, which they hope to eventually screen in schools across the country.

“Ireland was recently named the fourth highest nation in Europe for youth suicides, and the problem is only growing. In Galway alone, someone kills themself about every fortnight, and the town goes to such measures as putting nets under its bridges, in desperate attempts to save young lives. This is a problem that should not, and cannot, stand.”
